Job Overview
As part of DCM’s succession-planning and knowledge-retention programs, it has been determined that critical mining knowledge, operational experience and practical competence must be transferred from experienced Mine Overseers to developing staff members. The Workplace Coach will be an integral part of this process, providing effective coaching and mentoring, and developing competent frontline supervisors.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure that coaching activities align with operational requirements
- Enforce compliance standards and employee-development objectives
Requirements
- Mine overseer certification of competency
- 15 years of mining experience plus at least 1 year as mine overseer
- Age 55 years or older
- Code 8 driver's license
- Practical underground mining knowledge and experience
- Understanding of mining standards, procedures and legal requirements
Skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good leadership and mentoring skills
